Cannot display Photos

I have a new 64GB AppleTV. With my old (ancient) AppleTV, displaying photos in a slide show format was easy. With my new AppleTV, I access Photos with my Siri Remote, and I get a message saying "No Network Available. Check Internet and try again". I have a strong Internet connection, and don't have issues with other parts of AppleTV.

My HDMI Output is set to Auto.

Music plays fine.

I know I can't jerry rig this to play streaming photos, but that's not what I'm really looking for.

Any ideas?

When you access your images thru the Photos app (as opposed to via the Computer app and Home Sharing), it's designed to access them from your iCloud Photo Library.

Do you have iCPL enabled and is it using the same Apple ID as you set up ATV 4 with?

I have an Album on the Photos App on my iMac called AppleTV Pics. What I'm used to doing is accessing that album through AppleTV Photos. That's pretty much it.

I don't have ICPL enabled because I have many thousands of photos on my iMac. It would be overwhelming to have all those photos on AppleTV. I do have the same Apple ID as what was set up on ATV4.

Do you see your computer in the computers app, do you see the Photos option in the computers app.

You won't see photos from your computer in the Photos app, you need to look in the computers app.

Yes, I do see my computer in the computers app, and I do see the photos option in the computers app.

Not having had this ATV4 for very long, I didn't recognize the computers app! Silly of me, but thank you so much helping me solve this problem.
